Meet Dr. Alexia Tsakiris

Dr. Alexia has always been passionate about helping animals. But in 2005, she made her dream a reality when she graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London. In the years since then, she has...

  • Become a licensed veterinarian and registered herbalist
  • Expanded her knowledge of conventional veterinary medicine
  • Studied food therapy, spinal manipulation and other holistic wellness practices extensively

It takes a village to care for patients, so Dr. Alexia employs holistic vet techs to assist her. Visit the About page to learn more about our skilled team.

Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine which initiates a healing response from the body. Our patients love their treatments as it brings them into a sense of calm and relief.

It is better to learn how to keep your pets healthy, instead of waiting for them to get sick. Preventative medicine is for all ages, from puppies and kittens to our geriatric pets. Ensuring that all aspects of wellness are addressed beyond a thorough physical exam

Veterinary herbal medicine, also known as botanical medicine, has been used for centuries. Modern herbal medicine is backed by ongoing research as to its benefit for a multitude of conditions as well as how they work with our own bodies to create optimal wellness.

Food is medicine. Appropriate diet and well balanced nutrition are the cornerstone of your pet's health. The food your pet eats influences not only their biological health, but also the way they think, feel and act.

Laser therapy, also known as "cold" laser, helps to decrease inflammation and stimulate healing to areas of the body, especially in the joints.

Including spinal manipulation, myofascial release, trigger point therapy and massage

During a virtual appointment the doctor will review your pet's history, current issues, current medications supplements and food, and then come up with a plan for healing.

See what our customers have to say about us!

I highly recommend Dr. Alexia! My kitty Alby was diagnosed with IBD in October 2020. After many Internal Medicine vet visits and tests done, I was frustrated with Alby being just medicated and on prescription junk food. I needed help healing him from the root of the cause. Dr. Alexia took time, listened and was so compassionate in guiding me on trying supplements, herbs and diet change. Alby now after several months is on the mend, keeping his food down and looking and feeling better. I, as a pet parent am so appreciative that I found Dr. Alexia to help truly heal my Alby! Thank you!!

Dr. Tsakiris believes that every pet parent should be an empowered advocate through education for their pet, actively involved in their health and wellness.

"I believe in treating the animal,
not just the disease"

To bring holistic medicine to the forefront of health. Dr. Alexia feels the best medicine is an integrative approach combining holistic with conventional medicine. Her passion is to bring awareness to people and their pets about the benefits of a holistic approach to health and wellness. With the ultimate goal of integrative veterinary medicine being the standard of practice in every vet clinic.

Disease (dis-ease) is a manifestation of imbalance in the body.

By looking at the current patterns of disharmony, and addressing the underlying issue, this allows the body to function at its optimum level. Dr. Alexia's approach is individual for every patient by getting to the root cause of disease and being proactive by supporting and nourishing the body using acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapy, energy work, laser and other holistic modalities.

Dr. Alexia integrates complementary holistic medicines with other treatment modalities your conventional veterinarian may be using.

As an exclusively holistic veterinarian, Dr. Tsakiris works side by side with her patient's general practitioner veterinarian as well as the pet parent, to create a treatment plan.

Holistic medicine excels where conventional medicine falls short, and vice versa. Chronic diseases like arthritis, gastrointestinal disorders, kidney and liver disease are just a few of the diseases which are treated and managed successfully by taking a whole animal approach.

Conventional (i.e. Allopathic) Medicine tends to view the body as a complex machine and forgets about the body's own healing abilities. Conventional medicine is wonderful for the fields of pathology, radiology, tests such as bloodwork, surgery, all of which we utilize. But this approach separates the individual from the disease and ignores emotions, lifestyle, diet, stress and the innate ability for the body to fight off disease.
